  • A merit-based scholarship awarded to students admitted to Pitt Honors. No more than 50 students admitted to Pitt Honors are invited to an on-campus interview with the Chancellor’s Scholarship Selection Committee consisting of the Pitt Honors dean, director of advising, and academic advisors.

Work & Research Experience

June 2023 - September 2023

Amazon Prime Air / Propulsion Engineering Intern

  • Lead the research & development of a heat pipe􏰄based cooling system for the next generation drone􏰗s IPC. This included utilizing hand calcs to educate a cooling system design, modeling the system in Ansys Icepak, building a prototype, 􏰓& testing the prototype system.

  • Designed, prototyped, & tested an ultra􏰄light weight press􏰄􏰘t foam spinner for the next generation drone.

  • Designed, built, & utilised an experimental set􏰄up to test the battery􏰄 PDM interface after many mating cycles. 

  • Designed & built a prototype battery charger for the DV battery.

June 2022 - August 2022

Caltech Autonomous (Aerospace) Robotics & Controls Lab / Aerospace Corporation SURF Fellow

  • Novelly trained the CNN-based object detection algorithm, YOLOv5, with custom datasets to be optimized for real-time spacecraft detection and tracking in close-proximity operations during planetary orbit.

  • Applied our original model in a custom ROS2-YOLOv5 pipeline to execute the task of space-borne angles-only navigation.

  • Implemented an Extended Kalman Filter which utilized coordinate points collected during real-time detection and tracking as inputs and estimated the position and velocity of an unknown target spacecraft.

June 2021 - July 2021

Syntheon LLC / Mechanical Engineering Intern

  • Lead & assisted in a plethora of static, dynamic, & wet pre-DV tests on the LAA Exclusion System.

  • Independently collected pre-DV test data and conducted statistical analysis on said data utilizing Excel and Minitab. 

  • Lead the LAA Exclusion System worst case scenario analysis and modeling so that finite element analysis could be done to determine the factor of safety in the worst case scenario.

  • Utilized SOLIDWORKS, Markforged Eiger, & power tools to model, 3D print, drill, & tap assorted tools and fixtures for use in the lab & in DV tests. 

  • Assisted in drawing & editing third angle projection drawings for various LAA DV test fixtures on SOLIDWORKS.

August 2020 - January 2021

APEX Senior Research Project / Student Researcher

  • Researched Chemical, Electrical & Nuclear rocket propulsion systems to investigate how differences between systems affect the efficiency of the rocket in regards to interplanetary space exploration.

  • Created an educational video series which was shown at the local aerospace engineering magnet middle school.

  • Presented research, video series, & a reflection on the independent research process to a committee of APEX teachers for review & grading.

  • Encouraged students to take physics courses by working to make them more accessible by offering peer-tutoring sessions during lunch. 

  • Offered virtual tutoring and AP study sessions to support physics students throughout online school due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Walter Johnson High School Math Team / Vice President

  • Worked to explore college-level mathematical topics alongside fellow mathletes by making in depth lectures, organizing guest speakers, and solving challenging problem sets.
